The State Law Library, housed in the Library of Michigan, provides access to legal resources for the general public, state government employees, and the legal and judicial community. Librarians assist patrons in the start of research and demonstrate how to use materials in the collection. Staff can compile topical information packets, research  the background of legislation and perform more extensive research on discrete legal issues.

The Law Library collection includes current and historical Michigan legal materials, federal and state primary law, multi-state materials and British and Canadian resources. Secondary source materials and online legal resources supplement the print collection.
